An astrologer who understands multipotentialites.
Emilie Wapnick (they/them) is an award-winning author, community builder and astrologer. Throughout their work, they help people shrug off old societal stories and expectations and claim permission to be who they really are.
Emilie has been studying astrology and reading charts for years. They graduated from the Portland School of Astrology in 2022, where they completed an intensive eight month program working with astrologers JP Hawthorne and Amanda Moreno. Emilie further deepened their astrological knowledge and interpretation skills as mentee in Kelly Surtees’ group mentorship program and through group tutoring with Bear Ryver. They have also completed workshops and courses by Demetra George, Chani Nicholas, Kelly Surtees and Jessica Lanyadoo.
Beyond astrology, Emilie is the founder and creative director at Puttylike, where they help multipotentialites (people with many passions and creative pursuits) integrate all of their interests to create dynamic, fulfilling, and fruitful careers and lives. Unable to settle on one path themself, Emilie studied music, film production and law, graduating from the Law Faculty at McGill University.
Emilie’s TED talk, Why Some of Us Don’t Have One True Calling, has been viewed 8 million times. Their book How to Be Everything has been translated into 13 languages and won a Nautilus Book Award. Emilie has been featured in The New York Times, Fast Company, Forbes, New York Magazine, The Huffington Post, BBC and Vice.
Emilie hails from Montreal, lived in Portland, OR for a while, and now lives with their wife Valerie, their baby and their scottie dog on a remote island in British Columbia.

“Emilie was super professional and friendly. As I already had some astrology knowledge, they made sure to meet me where I am with that. They were super insightful and very sensitively approached the more difficult parts of my experiences as portrayed in my chart without trying to sugarcoat it. They helped me unpack my absolutely humongous stellium in a way that’s finally starting to make more sense to me. Thank you so much, Emilie!” -A.T.
